How to Apply

Once you have decided to join the Grasshopper Staff Exchange program and become a Grasshopper member. Then it is time to register, this is done via the  Register to Apply button. When we have received your registration, we will check it and when approved/eligible we will send you a login for the portal. On the portal you will find all the information, templates and steps to take to apply to a Call.

7-step workflow for applying to a Call

Applications to Grasshopper Staff Exchanges can be submitted at any time from the opening date of the chosen call. Templates for all requested document can be found on the portal. They should also be uploaded/submitted here.

Call round X open for all institutes

Researcher checks eligibility criteria and objectives secondment on website

 

If researcher is eligible then he/she needs to register on the website to have access to the portal –> here all documentation and forms can be found

  • Researcher approach grasshopper contact person at institute
  • Researcher approach grasshopper contact person and supervisor at hosting institute to define secondment duration and work plan
  • Researcher Upload “Expression of Interest Form”  including CV on the website before deadline round X

After closing a round

  • Expression of Interest Forms are shared with the sending and hosting institutes
  • If interest exceeds availability, the sending and hosting institutes decide together who is eligible for secondment
  • Coördinator provides the researcher with “Letter of Support”

Coördinator will contact researcher to complete application form + upload “Letter of Support” within 2 weeks
