Clinical Center of Children’s Healthcare WUSCMC
Communal Non-commercial Enterprise of the Lviv Oblast Council “Clinical Center of Children’s Healthcare” (legal entity identification code 01996728) is the only children’s supercluster hospital in the Lviv Region.
The enterprise is the legal successor of all property and non-property rights and obligations of the regional children’s hospitals – Lviv Oblast Children’s Clinical Hospital OHMATDYT and Western Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center. At present, the Unified Children’s Hospital Clinical Center of Children’s Healthcare is the most powerful of Ukraine’s regional children’s centers for pediatric oncology and hematology, pediatric surgery, organ transplantation, and a large list of orphan diseases (rheumatology, endocrinology, immunology, SMA, mental health, cystic fibrosis, etc.).
The institution is the only one in the western region of the country that performs bone marrow transplants for children. Since the beginning of the war on February 24, 2022, the Clinical Center of Children’s Healthcare has been the main children’s hospital of Ukraine for the evacuation of all seriously ill children in need from all regions of Ukraine under the SAFER Ukraine project, which was officially agreed with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the war, more than 1600 seriously ill children and over 3500 members of their families have been evacuated for treatment to leading hospitals in 18 countries of Europe and North America under the SAFER Ukraine project, including over 600 patients directly by the Center’s team. Thus, the Clinical Center of Children’s Healthcare is one of the main centers for the treatment of serious diseases of children in the country, especially given the limited treatment options in large cities of the frontline regions
